This is a moment to take stock and celebrate. I launched my consultancy six months into the COVID lockdown in 2020, and today I’m marking five years of helping businesses grow stronger through their people, aka transforming business through talent.

From Athens to Amsterdam, Nashville to (…sshh my favourite…!) Solihull, it’s been a fabulous journey with the occasional blind alley.

I was warned about the isolation of consulting. In reality, it’s been the opposite: friends and former colleagues have become clients, new clients have become friends. It’s a privilege to support leaders as they find their voice, navigate change and build resilience.

I’ve had the opportunity to work with FTSE-listed firms, PE-backed ventures, family businesses, philanthropic funded NFPs—and even ACAS. The common theme has been helping leaders and organisations navigate unfamiliar situations – receiving funding, losing revenue streams, carving out from a parent, or entering PE ownership. One clear learning: the impact of great people and strong HR leadership transcends ownership models and industries.

A special shoutout as well to David Chapman for our work on the ‘CEO Whispering’ programmes—helping HR professionals amplify their impact and influence. It’s been fulfilling and fun to share our experience with rising HR talents.

It’s a privilege to work with smart nice people such as Nick Laird Malcolm Harrison Vicky Moffatt Susan Hooper Roger Williams James Hayward Anna Castellani Alex Gartrell Bart van der Tas Michelle Prince Lisa Telford Claire Hogg Eugenio Morselli Michael Chivers Jolle Wever Cressida Pollock Ben Francis Laurent Madeleine Pedro Ros Lucien Alziari Roberto Amerighi Giuseppe Licari Tamara Kahn Sara Weller John Humpish Michael Shaw Edmund Robbins Adam Rhodes Chris Stainton Sue Rabbett Clare Chapman. Tanya Kuznetsova Alex Clarke and those whom I can’t name – – but you know who you are!

Thanks also to the invaluable support from Jake Jeffries and the team at Milk & Tweed, Chris Reah and team at Armstrong Watson, and Rob Parker, Galina Ivanova and team at Spence Clarke.

Here’s to the next 5 years. More impact. More growth. More talent transforming business.
